We were fortunate enough to have Cheryl as our postnatal doula. For the 6 weeks following the birth of our daughter Cheryl came to our house a couple of afternoons a week for a few hours. Cheryl seamlessly fitted into our family and was an amazing support for everyone. Her calm, nurturing presence was invaluable. Cheryl helped tremendously with assisting our five year old son adjust to the new family dynamic, and I personally felt incredibly well cared for and supported.
The postnatal period can be an overwhelming and vulnerable time, yet with Cheryl’s support I was able to focus on my new baby and enjoy that special and unique time. Some of the assistance that Cheryl provided was to help me with the mountains of washing generated by a newborn, she cooked some amazing meals, helped with bath time, held the baby when I needed a break, was an amazing resource about all things 4th trimester, and so much more.
