Toni, Richard and baby Theodora September 2017 A dads perspective.

When my wife, Toni said she wanted a Doula, I didn't even know how to spell "Doula". I googled it quickly and felt like my job was being replaced! I wanted to be the emotional support. "This is my job!" I said.
Regardless, I agreed to meet Cheryl "to see how we go". Within minutes, I changed my mind. She's like a professional sports coach, but for child birth. She's motivating, intelligent and calming. Leading up the birth, Toni and I felt more confident whenever Cheryl visited.
Labour comes! Toni's dropping F bombs. I was relieved when Cheryl turned up. Next minute, we're off to the Royal Brisbane. Cheryl didn't take my job at all. It's more like, she helped me do my job of helping Toni, even more. Together, we felt more like a professional team rather than the first time rookie that I was. Toni had the birth she was hoping for. I'm happy. Toni is happy. Little Theodora is happy. Cheryl was really important in making that happen. Highest recommendation
